I’ve already shown you the Yellow Brugmansia—but on Friday she sent me a Black Gamecock Iris—- in the pond. I didn’t even see the bud forming—I was totally surprised. Here are this weeks pictures. You will see fruit and veggies from the garden including beets, carrots, mangos, peaches, loquats, fig, apricot, plums. Still on the trees are apples, oranges, lemons, peaches,mangos and mineola tangelo. The pictures are assorted flowers, Gamecock Iris, Plumeria, Crinum, Angel’s Trumpet, Columbine, Roses, Ruella, Hibiscus and sunflowers, fortnight lily and more. Lots of pictures!!!!

This year Dale sent me the first ever flowers on the Yellow Brugmansia. The color is rich and deep. The flower pods were hidden beneath the large leaves and surprised me —at first I only noticed one—several days later I spotted the second pod. The other gift that thrilled me was flowers on the Texas Mountain Laurel—I had heard that the flowers smelled like grape candy or gum—–well that’s exactly what I experienced. It was a real treat. The flowers look like a larger Lilac bloom. The water lilies delight me every day as do the other flowers and plants. We have two Banana bunches that are almost ready to pick. The loquat tree was full of fruit as were both Peach trees. I wish I could send every one of you a Peach to experience the juicy fresh taste. Plums are ripening as are the few Apricots and Almonds. Oh and how can I forget the Mangos–lots of Mangos. I couldn’t photograph everything this time around—maybe next time. There are six pages of photos.

In honor of her birthday I’m posting pictures of roses and one very special addition to the garden. I’ve just noticed that somehow this young rose bush has joined the others. I’m not sure what variety it will be. It’s closest to the Brandy and the St. Patrick rose. We will just have to wait and see. It must be a special gift from Dale.

I’ve decided to take a little break for the holidays. I won’t totally disappear but I’ll only be doing a few posts from the garden on some upcoming special days.

I’m always amazed at how tiny they are—the size of a shirt collar button. The birds find lots of hiding places in this bush.

The new grass is starting to appear.  Looks like the White Crowned Sparrows and Doves are enjoying the free food.
