These fruits are so plentiful and prolific in the Far East, that it is customary to eat the flowering buds as a vegetable. It is quite tasty.

I would love to see a banana tree up close…sigh..I finally got a paw paw tree and they had fruit but they fell off in the sudden heat..I read that is usual for them, so I am looking forward to next season.

Bananas thriving in the desert are very unusual.
When I lived on the coast in central California
they were very difficult to grow, no less thrive.
You truly do have a green thumb. They are beautiful.
